Some information about BCCI in 2020. BCCI is the top governing body of cricket in India. It was established on 4th December 1928 as a society by some players. It was registered under Tamil Nadu Society Registration Act. Two years before registration it was affiliated by the International Cricket Council(ICC) on 31st May 1926.
BCCI has six state cricket bodies as its first members. And now there are 30 full-time members. Its headquarters are in Wankhade Stadium Mumbai in Maharastra.
As per Wikipedia Grant Govan was its president and Anthony De Mello was its first secretary.
The richest cricket board in the world is BCCI. It is worth more than Rs. 3308cr approximately. In previous days BCCI office was in Brabourne Stadium Mumbai. And today BCCI house is in a spectacular stone and glasshouse in Mumbai.
There was a structural reform held in the BCCI in 2017. The honourable Supreme Court of India on 30th June nominated a committee of Administrators to take the charge of the administration of BCCI. There are four members of the committee. They took the charge to implement Lodha Committee reforms and to hold a fresh election.
Now the prince of Kolkata, Sourav Ganguly is the president of BCCI and Mr Jay shah is the secretary of BCCI. Our favourite Sourav Ganguly becomes the 39th president of BCCI on 23rd October 2019. The president of BCCI is the highest post in Indian cricket. BCCI president is elected by it’s Annual General Meeting with its 30 permanent state cricket body. The post President of BCCI is an honourary post but it is highly prestigious because cricket is the most popular game in India and also the responsibility and the importance of the post.
BCCI has its own constitution under which BCCI runs. There are separate rules for its players and administrators.

BCCI organise Test Match Series. Every test matches continue for 5 days. And some test matches continue for 3 days.
BCCI organise One Day Match which is 50 overs match and also organises T20 which is 20 over match.
They also organise Ranji Trophy, Duleep Trophy, Deodhar Trophy etc. Besides this, they organise the extravaganza T20 tournament Indian Premier League that is called IPL. In this year due to the pandemic situation, BCCI decided to take the tournament to UAE. Mr Brijesh Patel is the chairman of the IPL committee. There are 8 franchises in IPL. It is a double round-robin league format tournament. It will start on 19 September 2020. Previous year champion is Mumbai Indians and Runners up is CSK.
